How 48Tunes handles account, playback, technical, billing, and sign-in provider data.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how 48Tunes collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the 48Tunes website, player, and related services.

By using 48Tunes, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information, such as your email address, display name, username, language preference, and account settings.
  • Usage information, such as tracks played, playlists, likes, saved items, listening history, queue activity, playback devices, Soundboard activity, 48Speak activity, plan status, and wallet or billing records.
  • Technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, session cookies, security events, and server logs.
  • Content you provide, such as playlist names, uploaded assets, profile settings, support messages, and other information you submit through the service.

Sign-in providers

48Tunes offers Google, Twitch, and Discord sign-in to authenticate users and connect them to a 48Tunes listener account. We do not receive or store your password for these providers.

Provider access tokens are used temporarily on the server to complete sign-in and retrieve the approved profile information. 48Tunes does not persist those provider access tokens in the listener account database.

  • Google: we request the OpenID Connect scopes openid, email, and profile to receive your provider account ID, verified email address, name, profile image, and basic locale information.
  • Twitch: we request user:read:email to receive your Twitch account ID, login and display names, email address, profile images, broadcaster information, and basic public profile information.
  • Discord: we request identify and email to receive your Discord account ID, username and display name, verified email address, avatar, locale, and basic account profile information.
  • 48Tunes does not request access to Google product content, Twitch stream management, Discord servers, private messages, or provider passwords through these sign-in flows.

How we use information

  • To create, authenticate, link, and manage listener accounts.
  • To provide music playback, playlists, listening history, recommendations, device sync, Soundboard, 48Speak, plans, wallet, and billing features.
  • To maintain service security, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and protect users.
  • To provide customer support and respond to account, privacy, billing, or technical requests.
  • To improve reliability, performance, and user experience.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or sign-in provider data.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the service, such as hosting, database, storage, payment, security, and infrastructure providers. These providers may only use the information to provide services to 48Tunes.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, security investigation, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of 48Tunes, users, or the public.

Cookies and sessions

48Tunes uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect sessions, and operate the service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account and service information for as long as needed to provide 48Tunes, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our terms.
